No other PC game has revolutionized e-sports at a level that Starcraft has. Touted as the best RTS (real-time strategy) game ever created, Starcraft redefined the genre itself when it was released back in 1998. With the game balance getting comparisons to the boardgame, Chess, Starcraft quickly sold millions of copies around the world. South Korea brought it further by having professional Starcraft games broadcasted on television. Unlike other RTS games, Starcraft always provides great and intense matches that any spectator can appreciate. This is the reason why Starcraft was the very first game to be included in the World Cyber Games.
