Atchucan Music: Urbandub

Atchucan Music: Urbandub

Here at the Atchucan headquarters, we don't only talk about gaming, tv shows or hot girls. The Atchucan team also share the love for music. Every time we hang out at the Atchucan HQ, each of us in the team submits a dozen tracks which would be included in the playlist. The Atchucan playlist is then played the whole day.

That way, we get exposed to different types of music and become educated musically. Now, we are gonna take that musical education online here at the Atchucan blog so that you guys won't be left behind . For our first feature, we have decided to go indie with Urbandub.

Urbandub started out in 2000 with humble beginnings. But with that progressive sound, their music has snowballed a cult following there in Asia. Simple text won't accurately depict their addictive sound, so why don't you just go forth and listen to an Urbandub song.

P.S. Urbandub has a new album called "The Apparition"
Check it out! You definitely won't regret it.

IronMan 2

Here at Atchucan Gaming, we all agree that Ironman was the best Marvel movie ever created. And for all of us who watched the brilliant 1st movie, we all knew that a sequel was imminent.

This 2010, Tony Stark will don his metallic suit once again in IRONMAN 2.
Robert Downey Jr. was great in the 1st movie, we expect nothing less on the second.

Here's a little message from Tony Stark himself:

Atchucan is giving away Heroes of Newerth keys

Since we've been talking a whole lot about the Dota genre lately on the NinjaSpartans blog, the members of the Atchucan gaming team feel that it's time to give away some Heroes of Newerth beta keys to our subscribers as a way of saying thanks for all the support you guys have given to us.

Why Heroes of Newerth beta keys?
There was a big clamor for HON Beta Keys on our Atchucan article for Heroes of Newerth. So, we think it's just appropriate to give you guys a chance to get into the beta.

(Note: DBG means DotA Based Game as RPG is to Role Playing Game)
It's a genre that sprung up thanks to Icefrog's popular Warcraft 3 map called DotA.

Only Atchucan subscribers are qualified to enter the contest. So if you're not yet in, you can type in your e-mail add so that we can send the Heroes of Newerth beta keys there.

Delivered by Atchucan Gaming

The Lord Of The Rings

As one of the most epic movies of all time, Peter Jackson's adaptation of J.R.R. Tolkien's Lord of The Rings has converted hordes of people to learn more about Middle Earth.

Filmed in beautiful New Zealand, this film trilogy shows to us grand landscape scenes and epic battles that simply take the viewers' breath away. And now it's on Bluray!

Witness the adventures of Frodo, Legolas and Aragorn as they embark on a journey in a world of Orcs, Elves and men. For those who didn't know, it was J.R.R. Tolkien who inspired Blizzard's successful franchise, "Warcraft."

The films may be quite long but it ultimately pays off. Our recommendation? Peter Jackson's LOTR trilogy is a must-watch.

League of Legends

If you've read about the Atchucan article about Heroes of Newerth, then this feature about another DotA based game might interest you.

League of Legends is a game developed by Riot Games.
In LOL (acronym for League of Legends), a player takes on the role of a Summoner which is a persistent element to the game. The Summoner can summon heroes called "Champions" to fight for them in battle arenas where the aspects taken from the original Warcraft 3 mod called DotA All-Stars are played out.

The best news about it? League of Legends will be a free to play online game.
That means you don't have to spend a single dime to have an advantage over other gamers.
Just download the game for free and you're good to go.
*The game developers are encouraging League of Legends (LOL) torrents.

Official League of Legends website: http://leagueoflegends.com

FYI:
League of Legends belongs to the DotA genre - an emerging gaming genre applying to all games heavily inspired by DotA AllStars.

Heroes of Newerth

If you've played the Warcraft 3 custom called DotA All-Stars then this news might be something you'll be interested in.

Heroes of Newerth is a game created by S2 games that literally takes DotA All-Stars body and soul from the Warcraft 3 engine to it's own engine not restricted by Blizzard Entertainment.

Icefrog commented on the issue of a game copying DotA with this statement:
They contacted me a few years ago to ask if I had any objections to them doing a game heavily based on DotA, which I didn't. I don't really mind all these new games (6 total now I think), competition is a good thing in the long run. I will still work hard to develop and improve DotA on WC3 for everyone that is still interested in it.
As you can see in the screenshot below, HoN is DotA All-Stars 2.0.

Looks familiar?

Starcraft Modded to Starcraft 2

Project Revolution might have stopped but this hasn't stopped a few Spanish developers from pimping the original Starcraft to Stacraft 2. Yeah, you read the last few words right.

Another SC2 mod has been put into commission but this time, they totally ignored the Warcraft 3 engine and went straight to old school Starcraft Broodwar. Now feast your eyes on these:

The Starcraft2rized Main Menu
No more Marine, it's Jim Raynor on your screen.Check out the briefing, earthling.Pimp my Protoss Nexus
That's 2nd generation Terran base, everyone.Check out the Starcraft 2 World Editor on Starcraft.
Atchucan tip: If you want to zoom in, you can actually click on the images.
You can visit the mod page at: Spanish sc2-esp.com SC2 mod thread
Better sharpen your Spanish! It's a Spanish Starcraft 2 forum by the way.

Warcraft3:TFT Featured Map: Elimination Tournament

Alright, let's move out!
Now who has not heard that famous radio call in one of the most historic first person shooter ever, Counter-Strike. Multiplayer FPS games have always fascinated us ever since they were first played. In fact, the Atchucan team used to watch televised Quake 3 matches commentated by some guy with a British accent. Even if we were not the ones playing in front of the computer, we would all feel the excitement especially if someone attempted the DEATH JUMP!
It was capture the flag at it's finest.

Now imagine all of these ported to the Warcraft 3 engine and you get Elimination Tournament.
In ET, there are 2 opposing sides with a maximum of 6 players each. With 6 different arenas to choose from, you and your friends can spend countless hours playing it.
Basically, if you know the concepts of capture the flag, estimation and timing, you won't have a hard time learning it.

Another good news?
Leagues and tournaments abound for this Warcraft custom.

Browser Game: Facebook MafiaWars

Wanna know what's the latest craze here at the Atchucan HQ?

Clue:
It's one of the most addicting Facebook application these days.

Stumped?
It's Facebook's Mafia Wars!

Mafiawars is a browser game by Zynga and is played by thousands of Facebook users around the world.

You start out as a simple mobster who's trying to build up a name and a mafia family. By doing jobs, you can start your rise to the top of the game and make all the other mobsters cringe at the sound of your name.

So you're the warfreak type?

Don't worry. You can fight other families to help you change from being just a street thug to becoming the neighborhood's Mafia boss. In addition to that, you can also start buying legit businesses and properties to fuel your illegal activities.

And of course, what's a gangster without weapons and rides?
Arm your mafia with high powered guns and let your enemies say hello to your little friend.

Best thing about this web browser game?
You make decisions on how you live your mobster life.

Little announcement from the Godfather:
The Italian Atchucan Mafia is now recruiting fellow Facebook mobsters to their fold. Just enter "ATCHUCAN" on the Facebook search page to add the Atchucan Facebook account. We will be giving tips on how to improve your Facebook Mafiawars strategy too.

Rejected Megaman Villians

This is the second time, Atchucan Gaming has flirted with FUN STUFF regarding Megaman.
The first time was the Megaman Theme parody video.

I was supposed to display the images on the .PNG format for a better quality but I thought about some of our subscribers who are still using their old Internet Explorer.
So, the guys here at Atchucan Gaming would like to advise everyone to start installing a better web browser so that the images shown at Atchucan will be the ones in their best quality.

Without further ado, we present to you the Rejected Megaman Villians circa 2006.
Please click to enlarge images.

Featured DVD: 300

Warning: This movie may not be suitable for very young audiences.

It's been awhile since this memorable movie was released for the home theater and it comes without surprise to have 300 included in Atchucan's Top Movie Picks for your DVD/Blu-ray collection.

300 - based on Frank Miller's retelling of the Battle of Thermopylae, Zack Snyder makes an excellent film adaptation that made this movie a sleeper hit back in 2007.
With little or no marketing, this seemingly obscure movie made a statement back then.

Orchestrated violence, epic scenes, glorious music - what more could you ask for?

Spartans!!! Tonight, we dine in hell!

Concept: Darth Obiwan

A StarWars question has been going around the Atchucan studio lately.
What would have happened if Anakin Skywalker's master turned to the dark side of the Force?

We lose the good old Obiwan Kenobi and get...
Darth Obi-wan (unless they baptize him with a new name like the other Sith do)

Brought to us by the mad geniuses of Free Radical for the StarWars Battlefront 3 game, we are proud to present top-secret images of Sith Lord, Darth Obiwan.

*Note: You can enlarge the images by clicking on them.

Not only that, we also get a detailed description on this brilliant and dark concept.

What if Yoda was a Sith Lord?

Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen

3 things could have happened when you watched the movie, Transformers.
You felt:

a) disappointed
b) glad
c) both

This 2009, the robots come back one more time to have some fun playing childish fighting games with one another while wrecking havoc on Earth at the same time.

X-Men Origins: Wolverine

There's a Canadian character I'm sure many of our blog readers know about.

His name is James Howlett.

Doesn't ring any bell?

Try Logan.
Still clueless?

Three syllables...

Wolverine

A favorite here with the guys at Atchucan, this hardcore mutant finally gets his own spin-off movie.

Title?
X-Men Origins: Wolverine.

It will delve into the "origins" of Wolverine.
And we all do like our movies done this way don't we.

Here's the first Official trailer for X-Men Origins: Wolverine.

They better not spoil this one, bub.
