The Lord Of The Rings

As one of the most epic movies of all time, Peter Jackson's adaptation of J.R.R. Tolkien's Lord of The Rings has converted hordes of people to learn more about Middle Earth.

Filmed in beautiful New Zealand, this film trilogy shows to us grand landscape scenes and epic battles that simply take the viewers' breath away. And now it's on Bluray!

Witness the adventures of Frodo, Legolas and Aragorn as they embark on a journey in a world of Orcs, Elves and men. For those who didn't know, it was J.R.R. Tolkien who inspired Blizzard's successful franchise, "Warcraft."

The films may be quite long but it ultimately pays off. Our recommendation? Peter Jackson's LOTR trilogy is a must-watch.

League of Legends

If you've read about the Atchucan article about Heroes of Newerth, then this feature about another DotA based game might interest you.

League of Legends is a game developed by Riot Games.
In LOL (acronym for League of Legends), a player takes on the role of a Summoner which is a persistent element to the game. The Summoner can summon heroes called "Champions" to fight for them in battle arenas where the aspects taken from the original Warcraft 3 mod called DotA All-Stars are played out.

The best news about it? League of Legends will be a free to play online game.
That means you don't have to spend a single dime to have an advantage over other gamers.
Just download the game for free and you're good to go.
*The game developers are encouraging League of Legends (LOL) torrents.

FYI:
League of Legends belongs to the DotA genre - an emerging gaming genre applying to all games heavily inspired by DotA AllStars.

Heroes of Newerth

If you've played the Warcraft 3 custom called DotA All-Stars then this news might be something you'll be interested in.

Heroes of Newerth is a game created by S2 games that literally takes DotA All-Stars body and soul from the Warcraft 3 engine to it's own engine not restricted by Blizzard Entertainment.

Icefrog commented on the issue of a game copying DotA with this statement:
They contacted me a few years ago to ask if I had any objections to them doing a game heavily based on DotA, which I didn't. I don't really mind all these new games (6 total now I think), competition is a good thing in the long run. I will still work hard to develop and improve DotA on WC3 for everyone that is still interested in it.
As you can see in the screenshot below, HoN is DotA All-Stars 2.0.

Looks familiar?

Starcraft Modded to Starcraft 2

Project Revolution might have stopped but this hasn't stopped a few Spanish developers from pimping the original Starcraft to Stacraft 2. Yeah, you read the last few words right.

Another SC2 mod has been put into commission but this time, they totally ignored the Warcraft 3 engine and went straight to old school Starcraft Broodwar. Now feast your eyes on these:
